Wrong priorities

Dear Editor:

A recent story about city of Lake Butler spending is countered by a story that their water main broke two times in one day. It would seem that the focus on spending should be more about what the town manager and public works director are doing to improve the infrastructure than about how much money was spent on Christmas cards for employees and candy for meetings, don’t you think?

It appears from the city website that the town manager is winning awards for budget presentations for several years in a row and, that he and the public works director have garnered $40 million in grant money to improve the city’s infrastructure.

Maybe this pro-active Councilwoman Hendrix is cutting off her proverbial nose to spite her face?

Sincerely

David Hodges
