KHHS girls soccer team ends regular season with 3 straight wins

Ella Hutchins scored two first-half goals for the Keystone Heights High School girls soccer team, which concluded the regular season with a 2-1 win over visiting Columbia on Jan. 19.

Halea Lam had one assist, while Aspen Krohn made 15 saves in goal.

It was the third straight win for the Indians, who entered the match off an 8-0 win at Eastside on Jan. 17. Alyssa Townsend scored three goals, while Kayle Buchanan and Alee Horton each had two. Madison Brinson added a goal as well.

Keystone got one assist each from Lam, Townsend and Ashly McCarthy.

Krohn made five saves.

Keystone (10-5-1) is the second seed in the District 4-3A tournament, which is being hosted by Williston. The Indians play seventh seed Fort White in a quarterfinal match on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 5 p.m. If Keystone wins, it’ll play third seed Williston or sixth seed Branford in a semifinal match on Friday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m.

The championship match is set for Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m.
