Bradford High School will continue its girls basketball season as the Florida High School Athletic Association announced Feb. 11 that the Tornadoes earned an at-large berth in the Region 1-3A playoffs, which begin with the quarterfinal round on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

The Tornadoes (14-8) earned the fifth seed in the eight-team region and will travel to Gainesville to play fourth seed P.K. Yonge (13-8) at 7 p.m. It’s a rematch of the Feb. 7 District 2 semifinal match, which the Blue Wave won 52-44.

P.K. Yonge went on to lose 53-45 to Trinity Catholic (16-9) in the Feb. 9  championship match.

If Bradford wins on Feb. 14, it will advance to the Monday, Feb. 19, semifinal round. The Tornadoes would either travel to Jacksonville to play top seed Providence (23-2) or host eighth seed Episcopal (10-16).

The rest of the Region 1 field consists of second seed San Jose Prep (14-9), third seed Trinity Catholic, sixth seed Master’s Academy (14-10) and seventh seed Florida High (12-14).

Bradford is 1-2 against P.K. Yonge this season, having lost the last two matchups.
