Bradford County students (high school seniors, traditional or nontraditional students) may apply for the $500 Kiwanis Club of Starke’s Steve Denmark Memorial Scholarship.
Applications are available at Bradford High School and Santa Fe College.
The deadline to apply is March 15. Applications may be submitted at the applicant’s school or mailed to Kiwanis Club of Starke, Steve Denmark Memorial Scholarship, Attn: Cheryl Canova, 5346 N.W. C.R. 229, Starke, FL 32091.
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be residents of Bradford County.
The scholarship can be used at any regional, accredited college or at North Florida Technical College.
Steve Denmark was a lifelong resident of Starke and Kingsley Lake. He graduated from Bradford High School and received a business degree from the University of Georgia. After college, he returned to Starke and took over the family business, Denmark Furniture. He later owned and operated the Sears store.
Denmark was a charter member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Starke. He had a great love for his community and gave of himself through service and donations to support many organizations, businesses and schools.
