The unofficial list of at-large qualifiers for the Region 2-1A girls weightlifting meet were released, with the result being that Bradford and Union County high schools will each have six lifters competing in the traditional event (bench press and clean and jerk), while Keystone Heights will have 11 compete in the traditional event and 13 compete in the Olympic event (snatch and clean and jerk).
Keystone had two automatic qualifiers for the Region 2 meet in District 6 champions Chloe Still (139-pound class) and Paige Harrington (183). The following received at-large bids to compete in the traditional event as well: Cadie Bowles (101), Alivia Richardson (101), Kourtney Marsh (119), Kenly Chitty (154), Ashlyn Brown (154), Morgan Wilson (169), Raegan Lee (169), Lily Mitchell (183) and Ava Herman (unlimited).
The Indians had one district champ in the Olympic event in Harrington. Joining her in that competition will be 12 teammates who earned at-large bids: Bowles, Brown, Chitty, Herman, Lee, Marsh, Mitchell, Richardson, Still, Wilson, Madison Sapp (110) and Bella Parmeter (119).
Bradford had one district champion in Rylie Blankenship (119). She’ll be joined at the Region 2 meet by teammates Raelynn Moore (119), Blakeleigh Smith (154), Kellsie Cochran (169), Addison Thornton (199) and Brianna Brooks (unlimited).
Like Bradford, Union also had one district champ: Alexia Cyr (169). The following Tigers earned at-large bids: Holly Halfacre (110), Riley Gibson (119), Emma Handley (119), Tai Allen (129) and Briena Haight (169).
The Region 2 meet will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at Chiefland High School, beginning at 11 a.m.
