Volleyball players from BHS, KHHS, UCHS to play in all-star game

Five senior volleyball players from Bradford, Keystone Heights and Union County high schools will participate in The Prep Zone All-Star Showcase in Alachua on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The event, which features a total of four games, will take place at Legacy Park Multipurpose Center (15400 Peggy Road). It includes 41 players from 23 schools as far south as Marion County, as far north as Suwannee County, as far east as Keystone Heights and as far west as the tri-county area of Levy, Gilchrist and Dixie counties.

Bradford defensive specialist Rylie Blankenship will play for the East team, along with two players from Keystone: setter Taylor Marquart and outside hitter/right side Abbie Roach.

Union will have two players on the North team: defensive specialist Jurney Crim and setter/right side Jordan Hendricks. 

All four teams (North, South, East and West) will have an open practice beginning at 9 a.m. Play then begins at 10:30 a.m. with two semifinal matches on opposite end courts. The North will play the West, while the South will play the East.

The third-place and championship matches will be played approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first matches. 

All matches will be a best-of-three format.

Admission (a day pass for all matches) is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children 5 and under will be admitted for free.

Cash or credit card will be accepted.

Concessions will be available. No coolers or outside food will be allowed.
