Pitchers Devin Diggs and Ayden Elixson combined to give up one hit for the Union County High School baseball team, which defeated host Suwannee 7-1 on March 14.

Diggs threw the first three innings, giving up one run on one hit, while striking out seven. Elixson then finished it off, pitching a no-hitter the final four innings.

The Tigers (7-1) scored all the runs they’d need in the first inning. After Jeremy Miller hit a leadoff single, Elixson, who finished 2 for 3, hit a home run. An error on a fly ball hit by Diggs allowed another run to score as Union took a 3-0 lead.

It was a 4-1 game when Union scored three in the seventh, with Tucker Hardee hitting a two-run single and Preston Bonsall driving in another run on a single of his own.

Union begins play in a tournament in Melbourne on Monday, March 20. Following the tournament, the Tigers will travel to play Columbia on Tuesday, March 28, at 7 p.m.
