Region matchups announced for KHHS, UCHS volleyball teams

As a district champion, Union County High School knew it was in the playoffs, but the announcement of the playoff field on Oct. 22 revealed that Keystone Heights is in as well, earning an at-large bid despite losing in its district semifinals.

Keystone (17-7) is the sixth seed in Region 1-4A. The Indians will travel to play third seed South Walton (15-10) in a quarterfinal match on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m. Central Time. If Keystone wins, it’ll travel to play second seed Bolles (19-7) or host seventh seed Pensacola (17-9) in a semifinal match on Friday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m.

Union is the second seed in Region 3-1A. The Tigers (18-7) will host the team it just beat for the District 6 championship — third seed Branford (19-6) — in a semifinal match on Friday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. If Union wins, it’ll play for the Region 3 title, either at top seed Aucilla Christian (20-3) or host fourth seed Hilliard (9-5) on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m.
