Keystone Heights High School students Jacob Beach (far left) and Ashton Alday (far right) teamed up to represent Keystone Heights Jr. Bassmasters and place first in Florida Bass Nation Junior/High School series tournament. The duo, fishing the St. Johns River out of Palatka, had a total weight of 19.18 pounds to top the field at the Fall Trail Qualifier #1 on Sept. 10. The second-place team had a total weight of 18.75 pounds. Alday and Beach, who competed against 130 teams from Florida and Georgia, were also seventh in the Big Bass category with a fish that weighed in at 5.01 pounds. The biggest fish weighed in at 7.67 pounds.
