Parties need young, intelligent leadership

Dear Editor:

We live in the greatest country in the world and we have the best political  system ever devised by man. Yes, it is terrible, but until someone comes up with a better idea we need to make this mess work. The Democratic Party is all but dead. It has been taken over by a group of liberal politicians led by a northern senator who is an admitted Socialist.

The Republican Party is led by an ex-president that is so arrogant he can’t admit the majority of American voters don’t like him.

Both parties need young, intelligent leadership with strong energy, preferably with some experience in working in Washington, D.C. Maybe a governor or mayor of a big city.

The recent hostage situation in Texas is a perfect example of just how crazy it has gotten. A middle-aged man from Great Britain walked into a Jewish synagogue during Saturday service and took the rabbi and several members of the congregation hostage. This all happened on live TV as the service was being broadcast to its members. The terrorist was armed with a hand gun and explosives. He wanted the release of a female prisoner who was being held in a local federal prison. If he didn’t get what he wanted, he would kill all the hostages and blow up the synagogue.

The city of Fort Worth was put on lockdown, as was the prison, where the female terrorist was being held.

The FBI was called in and, thank God, the situation was resolved with only the terrorist being killed.

This could happen anywhere.

God bless America.
