Natasha Puente Borrego, 42, of Starke, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was preceded in death by her father, Guadalupe Puente.
Survivors are her three children; a sister; and her mother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Connie Browder
In Loving Memory of Mrs. Connie Fayette Browder. Mrs. Connie Fayette Browder, a cherished wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away at her home in Lawtey on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at the age of 72. Her life, marked by grace and wisdom, was a testament to her enduring spirit. Born on July 8, 1951, in Jacksonville to Harold and Gertie (Godwin) Eunice, her journey was defined by her deep sense of family and her unyielding work ethic. She retired from D. Mosley Trucking, where her dedication was unwavering. She was also a faithful member of Christ Church, where her faith in God provided her with strength and comfort throughout her life. She had a passion for life that was evident in her hobbies. She found joy in sewing, embarked on adventures to the West, relished long rides through the woods, and engaged in spirited games of Scrabble. Her business acumen, wisdom, and intuitive nature made her a respected presence among her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Gertie; and her five brothers, Jimmy, Gene, Phil, Sammy, and Julius Eunice.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 32 years, Jake Browder of Lawtey, who shared in her joys and sorrows. Her love extended to her two children, Tammy (Matthew) Riggs and Dale (Rachel) Mosley, all of Lawtey, who will forever cherish her memory. Her legacy continues through her surviving brothers, Emory (Pat) Eunice of Williston and Roger (Sharon) Eunice of Tennessee. Her memory is also lovingly held by two sisters-in-law, Carolene Eunice and Martha Eunice. She was affectionately known as “Nanny” by her grandchildren, Emily, Bailey, and Garrett; and by her great-grandchildren, Carter and Della, who brought immense joy to her life.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, beginning at 10 a.m. on Oct. 5 at Long Branch Baptist Church. Funeral services will commence at 11 a.m., led by Mr. Emory Eunice, Pastor Roger Euncie and Pastor Lester Austin. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Long Branch Cemetery. In honoring her memory, we find solace in the knowledge that she has found her eternal rest in the arms of the Lord. Her legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished moments will forever remain in our hearts.

Charles Stewart Browning, 63, of Starke died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center.

Abby Gail Davis
Abby Gail Davis, born on Aug. 15, 2001, in Gainesville, sadly departed this earth on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at Elevate Care in Waukegan, Illinois. Her vibrant personality and zest for life left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a young woman full of life and laughter. She was a 2019 graduate of Union County High School. She always had a clever joke or witty remark ready to brighten up any conversation. Her friends and family loved her quick wit and appreciated the joy she effortlessly shared. Beneath her charming goofiness was a strong woman who was comfortable in who she was and made no apologies for it. Beyond her radiant personality, she had a passion for animals, music, and cooking. In the kitchen, she fearlessly experimented with flavors and techniques, creating vibrant dishes. Whether she was cuddling with furry friends or singing along enthusiastically to her favorite songs, she embraced the simple pleasures that brought happiness into her life. She was preceded in death by her brother Colton Davis.
She is survived by her mother, Heather Poole and father, Tracy Davis, both of Lake Butler; her sister, Mikayla Speer (T.J. Hutchinson) of Jasper; and brother, Tyler Bagley of Starke. She also leaves behind her nephews, Hutch and Warren; grandparents, Steve and Gail Poole, as well as Buddy and Dot Coullitte; and her best friend, Taylor Gainey; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate her life will be held Friday, Oct. 6, at St. Johns Church in Alachua. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with the funeral service at beginning at 3 p.m. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at St. Johns Church Cemetery. As we bid farewell to her, we are reminded that life is fleeting and that every moment should be cherished. How lucky we are to have had someone that makes saying goodbye so hard. Randall “Randy” Faile, 59, passed away peacefully at his home in Starke on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023. He was born on June 16, 1964, in Gainesville to Bobby Faile and Norma Jean Jones Faile. He was a dedicated individual who took great pride in his career as a security officer. For nearly three decades, he ensured the safety and well-being of those around him with unwavering loyalty and professionalism. Beyond his professional life, he was known for his vibrant personality and his deep love for the Lord. He had an infectious spirit that brightened every room he entered. Always engaging in lively conversations, his talkative nature made him the life of any gathering. His big heart and generosity extended not only to his family but also to everyone he encountered. He had a variety of interests and hobbies that brought him joy. He loved swimming, finding solace in the water as it provided an escape from the demands of everyday life. He also had a passion for cars and tended to keep three or four, just in case he needed a spare. A devout Christian, he found comfort and inspiration by attending church regularly. He enjoyed his quiet time with the Lord each morning and sending out scriptures daily to his family and friends. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching scary movies that sent shivers down his spine. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Faile; his brother, Kenny Faile; and his niece, Leah Rae Faile
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Michelle Faile Lovell; his daughter, Kristin (Charlie) Furneaux; and adoring grandchildren, Austin and Channing Corbin, all of Starke. He also leaves behind his mother, Norma Jean Faile; siblings, Mike Faile and Sandy Faile, all of Lancaster, South Carolina; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation to honor his life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 1 p.m.

Dorothy Hellen Johnson passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at the age of 98. She was born on May 30, 1925, in Lake Butler to the late Naion and Lennie Smith Tomlinson. Her life was centered around her family and friends. She dedicated herself to creating a nurturing and welcoming home for those she loved. Her caring and gentle nature extended beyond her immediate family; she had a knack for making everyone feel at ease in her presence. After graduating from Union County High School in the Class of 1944, she embraced the role of a loving wife to James Johnson. Together, they built a life based on shared values and created countless, beautiful memories. One of her greatest joys in life was gardening and tending to flowers. Her green thumb gave her an ability to cultivate vibrant blooms that brought joy to all who beheld them. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Johnson; her son, Terrance Charles Johnson; and her grandson, Eugene Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy E. Johnson Sr.; grandson, Jimmy E. Johnson Jr.; great-grandsons, Jimmy Dalton Johnson and Robert Barr; and great-great-grandson, Landon Barr.
Friends and loved ones were invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Blanding Boulevard Baptist Church in Jacksonville. The funeral service followed. She was laid to rest next to her husband at Mount Zion/Swift Creek Cemetery, 15050 W. S.R. 100, Lake Butler.

Mrs. Myrtle E. Parrish, 87, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, after an extended illness. She was married to Julius C. “J. C.” Parrish and together they built a wonderful life together. She has been a businesswoman working in various capacities. For the past 50 years, she and J. C. have been the owners of Skip’s Deli. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Parrish; children, J. C. Parrish Jr., Julie Williams, and James Parrish.
She is survived by her sons, Clayton (Mary) Parrish and Ronnie (Janet) Parrish; son-in-law, Deryl Williams; 10 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family.

LaJuan Whittle
Mrs. LaJuan Elizabeth Whittle, 66 of Starke, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. She was born Oct. 31, 1956, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the late Vinnie “Leroy” and Nancy (Morgan) Shouppe. She worked in various departments with the city of Starke before retiring as an administrative assistant with the Starke Police Department. She enjoyed gardening and loved her animals, but most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 50 years, J. W. Whittle; their two children, Christine (Wyatt) Collins of Starke and J. D. Whittle of Lake Butler; along with a sister, Frances (Sidney) Keeney of Starke. She was also lovingly called “Nana” by Wyatt (Brandi) Collins Jr., Wade (Hunter) Collins, and Emma Whittle; her great-grandsons, Cash Collins, Coy Collins, Boone Collins, and soon-to-be Clay Collins; nephews, Dennis (Stephanie) Montgomery, Sid Keeney II; a niece, Denise Clemons; and three great-nephews. We cannot forget her loving “fur babies,” Chewy and Luna.
A Celebration of Life was held, Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Mr. Johnny Frampton officiating. The family received friends prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to your local animal shelter in memory of LaJuan.

Mrs. Patricia Ann Woolard, 77, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at her home in St. Marys, Georgia. She was born on Sept. 7, 1946, in Starke to the late Floyd and Mary Cowart. Patricia, or “Pat” as her family and friends knew her, was a longtime resident of St. Marys, where she made many friends. Her friends were always up to something, cooking for someone, visiting those that needed some love and friendship, and often volunteering for some activity in the St. Marys area. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and spending time with her family. Her love of flowers and the outdoors was clearly evident both in and around her home. She was always willing to share plants and flowers with whomever she could. She always said that pretty flowers could bring life to any place. Her love of her family drove her to be loving, humorous, and proud. She loved talking about her granddaughter, Katie, and how proud she was of her accomplishments. She loved to call and talk to her great-granddaughters who called her “Ganny Ma.” She was always so proud of her family and would brag to anyone who would listen. She was loved by many, a friend to many, and will be missed by many. “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Abraham Lincoln. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Cowart; and her brother-in-law, Travis Wynn.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Woolard of St. Marys, Georgia; son, Terry (Bonnie) Woolard of Jacksonville; sisters, Elaine Wynn of Starke, Louise Alldredge of Lake Butler, and Gail Mansfield of Gainesville; brother, Tommy (Brenda) Cowart of High Springs; granddaughter, Katherine Suter of Jacksonville; and her great-granddaughters, Mackenzie Suter, Lily Suter; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Georgia.
