Morris Norman

Morris Norman

GRAHAM Morris ‘Wayne” Norman, 76, of Graham gained his wings on Monday, March 7, 2022 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside, in Jacksonville. He was born Aug. 19, 1945 in Raiford to Leamon and Beulah (Browning) Norman. He lived his entire life   moving between Miami and Starke; eventually calling Starke his home. Prior to retirement, he worked in construction; building whatever you needed. He never met a stranger. If he knew you he would reminisce with you as long as you wanted. If by chance, he didn’t know you, he would still talk with you. And before the end of the conversation he knew your family member from selling them strawberries; or “Oh yeah, I put A/C work in their home.” Or,  “I done a concrete job for them” and, in reality, he had. He was an avid fisherman; he told stories of how he caught fish by throwing a “stick of dynamite” in the water so all the fish would jump in the boat. His prize fish was a 13.75 pound bass that he caught in Kingsley Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne (Reed) Norman;  children, Ronnie Norman of Gainesville, Elisha Norman of Graham; siblings, Marie Wilson of Starke, and Danny Norman of Lawtey; grandchildren, Tyler (Shelie) Palmer of Irmo, South Carolina, Taylor Palmer of Greenville, South Carolina, Nate Norman of Tampa, Zack Norman of Lake Butler; and a great-grandson, Maddox Osborne of Irmo, South Carolina.

His grand entrance into heaven will be celebrated on Friday, May 6, at 12 p.m. at the New Covenant Baptist, 863 E. Brownlee St., Starke.
