Jacob Blalock

Jacob (Jake) Michael Blalock, 35, of Lake Butler, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023. He was born in Gainesville on May 27, 1987. He grew up in Lake Butler, where he was surrounded by loving friends and family. He attended Union County High School and graduated in 2005. He spent many years working in Orlando while living with the Vietnamese community. He enjoyed making music, creating art, and spending time with his pet snake, Gracie. In 2019, he married Tam Ngoc Blalock (Ty Ty). He was genuine, spiritual, open-minded, and saw the good in everyone he met. He positively impacted every person he met, and he will be sorely missed. He was preceded by his paternal grandfather, Charles Blalock; and his maternal grandparents, Edward and Geraldine Green.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tam Ngoc Blalock of Saigon, Vietnam; his parents, Jerry and LeeAnn Blalock of St. Augustine; his sister, Chelsea Blalock (Steven) Dose of Lake Butler; his nephew, Stetson Dose; and niece, Maren Dose.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, at 12 p.m. at Pine Grove Barn in Lake Butler.

Ray Bowman

Ray Eugene Bowman, 94 of Middleburg died on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, in Jacksonville. He was born in Ashton, Idaho on Jan. 24, 1928, to the late Irvin Edward and Clara belle (Neifert) Bowman.
