The Bradford High School boys basketball program is set to once again host the Lake Area McDonald’s-Kiwanis of Starke Christmas Basketball Tournament, which will take place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 19-21.
Daily admission is $5.
Joining the 2021-22 Class 1A state-champion Tornadoes will be Keystone Heights, North Marion, Paxon, Suwannee and Tavares. North Marion and Paxon were both Class 4A playoff qualifiers last year, with Paxon advancing to the region semifinals before losing and ending its season with a 25-4 record.
Bradford is coming off a 16-10 season in which it won eight straight games in capturing district and region championships before winning the program’s first-ever state title.
The Tornadoes enter this season with a new head coach in Andree Thomas at the helm.
This year’s tournament consists of three games each day, with tip-off times of 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
On Dec. 19, the first game pits Paxon against Tavares. Keystone will then play North Marion, followed by Bradford taking on Suwannee.
Keystone plays Tavares to begin play on Dec. 20, followed by Paxon against Suwannee and Braford against North Marion.
The final day on Dec. 21 begins with a game against North Marion and Tavares. Keystone then plays Suwannee before the tournament concludes with Bradford playing Paxon.
