Man dies after driving motorcycle into ditch

STARKE— The Florida Highway Patrol said a 64-year-old Archer man died after he overran an intersection on his motorcycle and hit a ditch.

According to an FHP report, the biker was riding south on U.S. 301 around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.

When he came to the intersection with State Road 223, also known as the Starke Bypass, the rider failed to turn, drove through the junction and into a ditch. The motorcycle then flipped on its side.

The crash occurred between the town’s Walmart and Murray Ford.

Bradford EMS transported the man to North Florida Hospital in Starke, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the report, the biker was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
