A parcel of land containing 1.00 acre, more or less, and lying in the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 12, Township 7 South, Range 21 East, Bradford County, Florida; said parcel being more particularly described as follows:

The South 132.00 feet of the North 264.00 feet of the East 330.00 feet of the West 390.00 feet of said NW 1/4 of SW 1/4. Above described parcel being conveyed with a right of ingress, egress and utilities over the following described parcel.

Citizen Advisory Task Force Meeting Notice

City of Lake Butler

FIRST PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The City of Lake Butler is considering applying to the Florida Department of Commerce (FC) for one or more Small Cities Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) for the 2023-24 CDBG program year.  Each grant is expected to not exceed $650,000.  CDBG funds may be used for one of the following purposes: 1. To benefit low and moderate income persons; 2. To aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; or 3. To meet other community development needs of recent origin having a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community and where other financial resources are not available to meet such needs.  The categories of activities for which these funds may be used are in the areas of housing, neighborhood revitalization, commercial revitalization, or economic development and include such improvement activities as acquisition of real property, loans to private-for-profit business, purchase of machinery and equipment, construction of infrastructure, planning/design, rehabilitation of houses and commercial buildings, and energy conservation. 

In developing an application for submission to FC, the City of Lake Butler must plan to minimize displacement of persons as a result of planned CDBG activities.  In addition, the City is required to develop a plan to assist displaced persons.  A public hearing to receive citizen views concerning the community’s economic and community development needs will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 5:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, at the City of Lake Butler City Hall located at 200 SW 1st Street, Lake Butler Florida 32054.  Additional information regarding the range of activities that may be undertaken with funding from the CDBG grant program will be provided at the public hearing.  Additional information may also be obtained prior to the Public Hearing by contacting Ms. Kimberly Hayes, City Manager at (386) 496-3401.  Also, comments or questions (and requests for additional information) may be submitted to Ms. Hayes, by email at [email protected], or by postal service at 200 SW 1st Street, Lake Butler Florida 32054.
