KHHS softball team defeats Ridgeview 6-2

Kadence Massey drove in two runs and pitched a complete game in Keystone’s 6-2 win over Ridgeview.

Keystone Heights High School’s softball team defeated Class 5A Ridgeview 6-2 on April 8 in Orange Park.

The Class 3A Indians (8-8) had a five-run fourth inning in which Kadence Massey hit a two-run single. Riley Shuford drove in another run on a ground out, while two runs scored on errors.

Massey finished with the two RBI, while Shuford and Ashley Nugent each had one.

In the circle, Massey pitched a complete game, giving up no earned runs, two hits and four walks, while striking out eight.

Keystone will host Class 5A Fleming Island on Thursday, April 11, at 6 p.m. The Indians travel to play Class 5A Middleburg on Tuesday, April 16, at 6 p.m.
