KHHS girls tennis team off to 3-1 start

Keystone Heights High School defeated host Middleburg 7-0 on Feb. 28 to improve to 3-1.

Singles results, in order of seeding, were Tara Tarvit by 8-1, Whitnee Buchanan by 8-2, Shaylyn Williams by 8-1, Raegan Feldpausch by 8-0 and Sarah Siebert by 8-1.

Tarvit and Williams teamed up to win 8-0 at number-one doubles, while Buchanan and Feldpausch, at number-two doubles, also won 8-0.

The Indians opened the season with two straight wins, including a 7-0 win over visiting Middleburg on Feb. 9.

On Feb. 22, Keystone defeated host Union County 5-2. Buchanan won 8-6 in singles play, while Williams and Feldpausch each won 8-4. Siebert won 8-0.

Tarvit and Williams won 8-6 in doubles.

Santa Fe handed Keystone its only loss by a score of 7-0 on Feb. 23.

The Indians will host Santa Fe on Thursday, March 9 at 3:30 p.m.
