KHHS boys soccer team ends regular season with tie

Keystone Heights High School was looking to end the regular season in boys soccer with its fourth straight win, but the Indians instead settled for a scoreless tie against visiting Palatka on Jan. 20.

The Indians (10-4-4) entered the match off a 2-1 win over visiting Middleburg on Jan. 17. Skylar Kedgley and Aaron Wiley each scored a goal, with Ian Kruzan and Logan Spence each recording an assist.

Keystone is the fourth seed in the District 4-3A tournament, which will be played at Fort White High School. The Indians will play fifth seed Fort White in a quarterfinal match on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m. If they win, they’ll play top seed Williston in a semifinal match on Monday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. The championship match will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. The winner will qualify for the Region 1 playoffs.

The playoffs will consist of the champions of the region’s four districts and the top four teams in the power rankings that aren’t district champs.

Keystone is the 13th-ranked team in Region 1.
