KHHS boys golf team is 2nd in Oct. 8 match

Keystone Heights High School played in an Oct. 8 boys golf match at Alachua’s Turkey Creek Golf and Country Club, with Ty Mitzel leading the team with a fifth-place finish.

The Indians had a team score of 176, which left them trailing first-place Santa Fe by 18 strokes. Keystone placed second ahead of First Christian, which had a score of 187.

Mitzel had a birdie and made par on four holes in finishing with a score of 40.

Jacob Beach, who made par on five holes, shot a sixth-place score of 41, while Hunter Sheppard, who made par on two holes, finished eighth with a score of 47.

Nate Bardier shot a ninth-place score of 48, while Will Begue finished in a two-way tie for 10th with a score of 49. Bardier and Begue each made par on one hole.

Landon Spence also made par on one hole, finishing with a score of 52.
