KH considers golf cart regulations

Keystone Heights City Council members discussed allowing golf carts on city streets after City Manager Lynn Rutkowski provided them with current golf cart ordinances from Starke, Green Cove Springs and Putnam County, in addition to the state statutes regulating the vehicles.

She said if the council decided to move forward with allowing golf carts on city streets, Keystone Heights would have to talk to the Florida Department of Transportation about a crossing at State Road 21 (South Lawrence Boulevard).

City Councilman Tony Brown said he recalls one golf cart that operated within the city with state tags on the vehicle. He added that in such cases, the carts might travel on state highways.
