Indians improve to 2-2 in boys tennis with win over Middleburg

Ethan Teague and Curran Capper earned wins in singles play and teamed up for a win in doubles as the Keystone Heights High School boys tennis team defeated host Middleburg 4-3 on Feb. 28.

Teague earned an 8-3 win at number-three singles, while Capper won 8-4 at the number-four spot. The two played at number-two doubles, winning 8-3.

The Indians (2-2) also got an 8-0 win at number-five singles from Beckett Capper.

Keystone opened the season with a 6-1 win at Union County on Feb. 22. The Indians swept the five singles matches, with Dalton Moore winning 8-3, Evan Booth winning 8-4, Curran Capper winning 8-5, Teague winning 8-0 and Beckett Capper winning 8-5.

The number-one doubles team of Moore and Booth won 8-4.

 Keystone lost 4-3 to visiting Santa Fe on Feb. 23. Moore and Teague won in singles play by scores of 8-4 and 8-1, respectively, while Moore and Booth teamed up for an 8-4 win in doubles.

The Indians lost 6-1 at Eastside on Feb. 27, with Teague earning the only win by a score of 8-4.

Keystone plays at Santa Fe on Thursday, March 9, at 4 p.m.
