Hope’s hoops teams all get home victories against Corinth

It was a 4-for-4 night at Hope Christian Academy on Jan. 10 as its junior varsity and varsity boys and girls basketball teams all defeated Jasper’s Corinth Christian.

The JV boys team had no trouble keeping its perfect record intact, defeating Corinth 46-24.

After a 38-13 win at Northside Christian on Jan. 12, the JV boys are now 11-0.

Hope’s varsity boys team lost for just the second time on Jan. 6 (66-40 against Albany, Georgia’s Byne Christian), but the Lions bounced back with a 66-31 win over Corinth.

The varsity Lions defeated Northside 52-14 on Jan. 12 to improve to 10-2.

Hope’s varsity girls team defeated Corinth 42-23, while the JV girls won in overtime by a score of 26-21. Karlee Coffman and Jadie Clark scored 17 and 13 points, respectively, in the varsity win, while the JV team got 10 points from Coffman.

The varsity girls team fell to 3-8 with a 31-23 loss at Northside on Jan. 12. The JV girls, who are 1-8, lost 32-13 to Northside.

Hope’s JV boys, varsity boys and varsity girls teams all played this past Tuesday (Jan. 17). All four teams will host Gainesville Christian Community on Friday, Jan. 20, beginning with a JV girls game at 4 p.m. The JV boys will play at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity girls at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity boys at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Jan. 24, the varsity teams travel to Lake City to play Hart 2 Hart. The girls game tips off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys game at 6:30 p.m.
