Bradford and Lake Butler middle schools will face each other in two different sports this week in Starke, with the Suwannee Middle School Athletic Conference championship in each sport on the line.

First, the schools’ football teams will play for the SMAC title on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. Bradford defeated Lake Butler 22-0 in a regular-season meeting on Oct. 3 in Lake Butler.

The Tornadoes are entering the game off a loss to South Sumter, but are looking to maintain their perfect record against SMAC opposition.

Lake Butler is coming off a win over fellow SMAC team Keystone Heights.

On Thursday, Oct. 19, Bradford’s volleyball team, which is also undefeated in SMAC play, will host the Tigers at 6 p.m. The Tornadoes defeated Lake Butler twice in the regular season.

The Tigers are attempting to win their fifth straight SMAC championship.
