Bradford High School is set to celebrate homecoming next week (Oct. 10-15) under a theme appropriate for the month of October: “Terror on Tornado Alley.”

Students will participate in dress-up days throughout the week, while student skits and the crowning of this year’s homecoming king and queen will take place at the annual Tornado Whirl, which will be Thursday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. Seniors vying for queen this year are Laney Griffis, Makayla Moore, Gabrielle Oliver, Ka’Naria Williams and Kimberlyn Woods. King candidates are Omanuel Covey, Shayne Davis, Peyton Johns, Mario Small and Elijah Williams.

Tornado Whirl tickets are $5 and can be purchased via gofan.co. The link (gofan.co/app/events/723056?schoolId=FL17918) can be found on the “Bradford High School” Facebook page.

The parade will take place on Friday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. It’ll begin on Washington Street and proceed south on U.S. 301. The route will continue west on Call Street before turning and traveling north on Orange Street to finish at the BHS track.

Bradford’s 6-0 football team, which is ranked number one in Region 2-2S and number one in all of Class 2S, will host District 6 opponent Tocoi Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14. The Toros will bring a 4-2 record into the game after a 26-21 loss to Palatka on Oct. 4.

The Tornadoes are looking to improve to 2-0 in the district after their 38-0 win over Keystone Heights on Oct. 3.
