BHS, KHHS players to be part of all-star hoops game

Bradford and Keystone Heights high will be represented at The Prep Zone All-Star Basketball Showcase on Saturday, April 13, at Legacy Park Multipurpose Center in Alachua.

The event will consist of two girls teams and three boys teams. The East boys team will include Bradford players Mattox Burgin and Damarion Hankerson, along with Keystone’s Garrison Teague. Their team will play the West all-stars at 3 p.m. and then the North all-stars at 4:30 p.m.

Boys action begins at 1:30 p.m. with a game between the North and West all-stars.

The champion will be determined by overall points.

Ocala Vanguard’s Travis Licht will coach the East team, which also consists of Vanguard players D’Mareon Manning and Johnardo Turner, First Assembly Christian players Danny Pascuma and Ta’Bryant Wooden and Lake Weir’s Amari Kiner.

The other boys teams include players from Baker County, Branford, Bronson, Buchholz, Dixie County, Gainesville, Lafayette and Williston.

Two girls teams (North and South) will play at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., consisting of players from Baker County, Belleview, Countryside Christian, Eastside, Forest, Lafayette, Oak Hall, Ocala Christian, P.K. Yonge, St. John Lutheran, Trenton, Trinity Catholic and West Port.

Admission (day pass) is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children under 5 will be admitted free.

Legacy Park is located at 15400 Peggy Road.
