BHS ends losing skid in boys tennis with win over UCHS

Bradford High School snapped a three-match losing streak in boys tennis, defeating visiting Union County 4-3 on March 14.

The Tornadoes (3-5) swept doubles play, with Calum Butler and Rowan Butler teaming up for an 8-3 win and James Hudgens and Nikolas Vargas winning 8-6.

Calum Butler and Rowan Butler won their singles matches by scores of 8-1 and 8-4, respectively.

Union (2-3) won the number-three through number-five slots in singles: Scott Douglas by an 8-2 score, Braden Adams by an 8-6 score and Patrick Maxwell by an 8-1 score.

The Tigers were coming off a 5-2 win over Seven Rivers Christian on March 8.

Kendre Stephens had an 8-8 (8-6) win at the number-two singles spot, while Douglas and Adams had 8-1 and 8-4 wins, respectively, at number three and number four. Tucker Williams won the number-five match 8-0.

The doubles team of Stephens and Adams won 8-8 (7-4).
