Baseball, softball district tournaments start May 1

Baseball and softball district tournaments begin on Monday, May 1, and run through Thursday, May 4.

In baseball, Bradford is the fifth seed in the District 2-3A tournament and will play fourth seed Bishop Snyder at 6 p.m. at Bishop Snyder. If the Tornadoes win, they would travel to Jacksonville on Tuesday, May 2, to play top seed Trinity Christian in a 7 p.m. semifinal game. The winner advances to the championship game on Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m., with the higher seed hosting.

The rest of the tournament consists of second seed Baldwin and third seed West Nassau, who play each other in the May 2 semifinals.

Keystone is the fourth seed in the District 4-3A baseball tournament, in which all games will be played at Trinity Catholic in Ocala. The second seed Indians will play seventh seed Crescent City at 7 p.m. in a Tuesday, May 2, quarterfinal game. Other quarterfinal matchups are fourth seed Father Lopez vs. fifth seed Pierson Taylor and third seed P.K. Yonge vs. sixth seed Interlachen.

If the Indians win, they’ll play P.K. Yonge or Interlachen on Wednesday, May 3, at 4 p.m. Top seed Trinity Catholic will play Father Lopez or Taylor at 7 p.m.

The championship game is May 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Union County is the second seed in the District 6-1A baseball tournament, which is being hosted by Branford. The Tigers have a first-round bye and will play third seed Hamilton County or sixth seed Fort White in a May 2 semifinal game at 4 p.m. If Union wins, it’ll play either top seed Lafayette, fourth seed Hilliard or fifth seed Branford for the championship on May 4 at 7 p.m.

Keystone is hosting the District 3-3A softball tournament, which will also include Bradford. Bradford is the fifth seed and will play fourth seed Interlachen in a quarterfinal game on May 1 at 3 p.m. Keystone, the third seed, will play sixth seed Beachside that same day at 7 p.m.

Second seed Palatka and seventh seed Crescent City will play each other between the Bradford and Keystone games at 5 p.m.

If the Tornadoes defeat Interlachen, they’ll advance to the May 2 semifinals to play top seed Pierson Taylor at 7 p.m. The Indians, if they advance, will play a 5 p.m. semifinal game against Palatka or Crescent City.

The championship game is May 4 at 6 p.m.

 Union is the third seed in the District 6-1A softball tournament, which is being played at Branford. The Tigers and second seed Fort will play each other in a semifinal game on May 2 at 5 p.m. Top seed Branford will play at 7 p.m. against fourth seed Bell or fifth seed Lafayette.

The championship game is May 4 at 7 p.m.
