Arrested for killing 2 teens

Police said Jill Stone Barnash was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes at over 100 mph when she struck the oncoming car.

Alachua deputies arrested a 47-year-old Gainesville woman after Gainesville police accused her of killing two Lake Region teens and seriously injuring a third person in a September 1 traffic crash.

Jill Stone Barnash was arrested on October 3 for two counts of vehicular homicide and one count of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury.  

According to traffic citations issued by police, the Haile Plantation resident was driving her 2019 Buick SUV on Northeast 39th Avenue near the Gainesville Regional Airport when her SUV hit the victims’ vehicle head-on.

Police said Barnash was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes at over 100 mph when she struck the oncoming car.

Killed in the collision were Calin Marie Coats and Ayden Tyler Graff. 17. Injured in the crash was Graff’s mother, Sarah Piner of Green Cove Springs.
