KHHS girls soccer season ends with 9-1 loss to Bolles

Keystone Heights High School earned an at-large bid to the girls soccer Region 1-3A playoffs, but saw its season end in the first round with a 9-1 loss to second seed Bolles in Jacksonville on Feb. 7.

The seventh seed Indians (19-6) got its one goal from Ella Hutchins, who scored off a Kiersten Shaw assist.

Goalkeepers Miranda Yow and Kendall Gagnon made 12 and six saves, respectively.

Though she didn’t score, Shaw is still second in the state in goals scored this season with 71.

Bolles, which got seven goals from Annalise Cannada, would go on to defeat third seed Maclay 4-0 in a Feb. 10 semifinal match. The Bulldogs (14-6-3) now travel to play top seed P.K. Yonge (14-4-1), which defeated Keystone 6-1 in the District 4 championship match, for the Region 1 championship on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
